Art, Imagery, and Design
METHODOLOGY
Whether purely creative licence, delivering a message, or creating a specific piece for a client, I typically build on a foundation of extensive research and reference gathering, careful subject study for accuracy (depending on desired outcome), expansive visualization, and a series of conceptual sketches. I will revisualize and rework component angle, placement, lighting, and other aspects until I am happy (though as a perfectionist I could keep an art piece going indefinitely, if I'm being perfectly honest with myself). For commissioned pieces, I engage in thorough upfront consultation and on-going discussions throughout. Often, there is a massive amount of detail work (why do I do that to myself?!). Then come the final, essential touches to really set the piece off!
For files and prints beyond the originals, this is followed by either a methodical session of photographing the art (sometimes multiple to get it just right) or scanning, post-processing with extreme care and attention to detail to match the original art as closely as possible, and the generation of a series of file types for different uses.
Here's the thing--I want the art to have an impact and I want the acquiring individuals to be happy with and enjoy each piece for years to come.
My artistic works take research, thought, precision, and care....
“Art is the path of the creator to his work.”
— Ralph Waldo Emerson

The amount of detail can be exhaustive, yet well worth the effort.

(Forgive my rather unsteady left-handed video while enjoying the music & stippling --hahah)
